- Perform and follow proper rearing activities and protocols for invertebrate production, used as food for the ex situ amphibian populations.
- Carry out appropriate husbandry activities and protocols for the ex situ amphibian populations housed at the facilities.
- Breed individuals to increase amphibian populations to desired stable levels for future reintroductions.
- Maintain records related to amphibian husbandry, population management, and a studbook of breeding pairs.
- Ensure the availability of materials and supplies necessary for maintaining amphibians and invertebrates.
- Support the coordination of a volunteer and education program, involving local and international volunteers, interns, and students.
- Participate in rescue expeditions in Panama aimed at incorporating new individuals into the ex situ amphibian populations.
- Assist with the setup of amphibian rescue pods and exhibits.
- Conduct outreach activities related to amphibian conservation.
- Participate in the reintroduction of individuals into the wild.
- Perform other duties inherent to the position as assigned by the supervisor.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in vertebrate, invertebrate, or conservation biology.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals in a multicultural environment, with proficiency in both English and Spanish.
- Proficiency in computer software applications, including MS Office, Windows, and other programs relevant to the role.
- Good physical and respiratory condition required.
