We steward precious resources by finding more sustainable solutions.Job SummaryThis Revenue Accounting staff-level position is primarily responsible for supporting transaction accounting, monthly close, financial reporting and internal control activities for TYLin Panama and Colombia entities. This is an opportunity for someone to build a career with a fast-growing business and be a part of improving the financial processes and procedures of the organization.Responsibilities & QualificationsDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and review monthly closing entries. ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data. Prepare journal entries, including payroll‑related entries, accrued vacation, and XIII-month accruals, and tax accruals.
  • Performing M/Q/Y account reconciliations and providing variances analysis for key balance sheet accounts.
  • Support overhead expense accounting, reporting and analysis activities.
  • Follow the due dates based on the accounting close calendar.
  • Review local statutory financial statements prepared by outsourcing teams and compare them with Deltek data.
  • Upload reconciliations and supporting documentation to FloQast.
  • Support internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Be a liaison with local accountants, banks and lawyers.
  • Perform IC Due To/From and AR/AP reconciliations with sister companies.
  • Prepare the annual plan and quarterly forecasts for the assigned units.
  • Follow up bank balances, report bank expenses and reconciliations. Prepare cash flow reports anticipating fund re for two Panama business units. Prepare and enter bank expense CDs and intercompany CDs for posting.
  • Review, code and get approval for vendor’s invoices. Send them for processing and follow up. Payments applications review (Payment Register).
  • Review and/or prepare local electronic invoices. Prepare CRs for invoices and withholdings.
  • List the voucher schedule to get approval to do the entries in the bank.
  • Review payroll prepared by the outsourcing team and process payments. Review VAT/ITBMS forms, send for processing and prepare payments entries for approval. Follow up the tax withholdings, get the documents from local accountants and prepare the payments
  • Review income tax returns and annual tax obligations. Prepare estimated income tax projections for GI tax team.
  • Review transfer pricing reports for compliance.
  • Participate in special projects, analysis, and ad‑hoc tasks as assigned.
  • Communicate proactively with management regarding potential issues, risks, or delays.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • This position requires strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. The Junior Accountant will regularly interact with regional teams, outsourcing partners, and internal stakeholders, and must be able to prepare clear documentation, respond to inquiries professionally, and participate effectively in virtual meetings conducted in English.
  • 1 - 5 years of experience in related field.
  • Pro-active, multitasking and results oriented.
  • Required strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines.
  • Understanding Panama Accounting Principles, IFRS and Panamanian taxes.
  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.
