Detalle del aviso:We are looking for a Junior Mainframe Software Engineer eager to start and grow a long-term career in IBM Z-Series / Mainframe development.This role offers a strong learning path, close mentorship, and hands-on experience working with proprietary mainframe developer tooling used by enterprise customers. You will gradually take ownership of modules as your technical confidence grows.🧩 Key Responsibilities
  • Learn and work with Izzi Software's proprietary mainframe developer tools
  • Fix and validate reported bugs across assigned modules under senior supervision
  • Monitor the support email queue to gain exposure to real customer-reported issues
  • Contribute to and maintain internal technical documentation and knowledge base
  • Actively participate in Slack channels: ask questions, share findings, collaborate
  • Gradually take ownership of specific modules as proficiency increases
  • Build a solid understanding of mainframe fundamentals including buffering, memory types, registers, PSWs, and keys
✅ Required Technical Skills
  • Working knowledge of COBOL (primary entry language for this role)
  • Basic understanding of Assembly Language (ability to read, compile, and follow code)
  • Familiarity with JCL (Job Control Language) on IBM Z-Series
  • Ability to work in a structured mainframe development environment
  • Comfortable using debugging and testing tools in a mainframe context
➕ Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Exposure to IBM Z-Series / zOS environments
  • Understanding of mainframe memory concepts (registers, PSWs, keys, buffering)
  • Experience with systems-level programming (Assembler, C)
  • Previous contribution to technical documentation or knowledge bases
  • Familiarity with Slack-based asynchronous communication
