- Support the development and implementation of commercial legal project management and process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate in developing centralized policies and strategies related to commercial contracting.
- Perform contract-related SOX Controls.
- Review and negotiate of central and local procurement contracts.•Address contractual disputes.
- Create, update, and enhance contract templates.
- Participate in several topic-specific task forces, such as the Artificial Intelligence task force.
- Contract Management System Support.
- Support Carrier team with roaming, wholesale distribution, content, and other contractual arrangements.
- Liaise and maximize the effectiveness of local counsel, as well as central counsel, as relevant and needed.
- Develop and implement corporate policies, procedures, and programs, with emphasis on compliance with regulatory requirements related to Sede de Empresas Multinacionales (“SEM”) legal regime in Panama.
- Identify and implement AI tools focused on streamlining and automating legal, regulatory, and compliance processes.
- Help increase the Legal Department’s awareness and use of AI tools.
- Support the design and implementation of LLA’s AI governance framework.
- Provide legal and regulatory advice and support on an array of legal and corporate issues. Prepare legal briefs on topics related to issues that impact the company’s business, with thorough analysis and recommendations on mitigating activities that can be taken to prevent legal action against the company.
- Oversee handling of various types of legal requests.
- Demonstrate and ensure alignment with all Liberty Iberoamerica and Liberty Latin America’s policies and procedures, including the Business Code of Conduct.
- Other functions may be assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and Juris Doctor (or equivalent) from an accredited law school, with admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the legal field.
- Teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders, external partners, and suppliers.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities; proven capacity to manage multiple priorities under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Solid business judgment, analytical capability, and breadth of technical legal knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with responsiveness and client focus.
- High ethical standards, discretion, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Proactive problem-solver with strong decision-making skills and a forward-looking approach to proposing solutions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Ariba, and Power BI.
- Fully bilingual in Spanish and English.
